The Hill County Section 8 Office was placed under the management of Waco Housing Authority in the year of 1996.  This office assists low income families with Section 8 rental assistance.  Currently, the office is assisting approximately 197 families, who live in the areas of Abbott, Aquilla, Blum, Bynum, Covington, Grandview ( Johnson County ), Hillsboro, Hubbard, Irene, Itasca, Malone, Mertens, West (McLennan), Whitney and Somervell County. 

Applications are taken in the office between the hours of 1:30 and 4:00 Tuesday through Thursdays in the Hillsboro Office, and on Mondays in the Glenn Rose (Somervell County) Office.  Applications can be mailed to interested parties upon their request.  Persons with disabilities who require reasonable accommodations to complete an application may call the Hill County Section 8 Office at (254) 582-8558 to make special arrangements.

• The Somervell County Section 8 Office was placed under the management of Waco Housing Authority January 1, 2006

• This office assists low income families with rental assistance in Glen Rose, Texas. Currently, there are 46 families receiving Section 8 rental assistance.

• Applications are taken at the office once a week on Mondays from 8:30 - 4:30 pm. 

• The Somervell office is an extension of the Waco Housing Authority and Affiliates under the direction of Executive Director Gary T. Moore.
