The Hill County Section 8 Office was placed under the management of Waco Housing Authority in the year of 1996. This office assists low income families with Section 8 rental assistance. Currently, the office is assisting approximately 205 families, who live in the areas of Abbott, Aquilla, Blum, Bynum, Covington, Grandview ( Johnson County ), Hillsboro, Hubbard, Irene, Itasca, Malone, Mertens, West (McLennan), Whitney and Somervell County.
The Hill County Section 8 Office is not considered a housing authority but an extension or other site of the Waco Housing Authority & Affiliates which is under the direction of President / CEO, Milet Hopping.
